The Gasili Vegetable Planters Association of Brgy. Wakas North in Pilar received a greenhouse with hydroponics, pump and engine, multi-cultivator, plastic crates and seedling trays from the Department of Agriculture, under its High-Value Crop Diversification (HVCD) Program, today, October 26.
Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro thanked representatives from the Department of Agriculture Regional and Central Offices as well as their local counterparts for their efforts to uplift the lives of his constituents in Pilar. He also assured the farmers that the inter-agency coordination will continue to cascade more programs for them.
Bataan Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Johanna Dizon, in her message, emphasized that their HVCD programs are prioritized as they aim to maintain their standing as top-performing province in the region.
Dizon also disclosed that they are planning to tap more farmers for the supply of vegetables in line with Governor Joet Garcia’s Healthy School Setting Program where a balanced meal in school for lunch is available, citing Japan as its proof-of concept.
DA RFO3 RTD Eduardo Lapuz Jr and DA Central Office representative Jeffrey Rodriguez led the awarding of Certificate to the Beneficiary, and the signing of Memorandum of Agreement and Deed of Donation for the greenhouse.
